this is an excerpt of a soundinstallation i did in the medienkulturhaus wels, austria. it is based on the shepard scale.the different sine waves are distributed according to their pitch and loudness to four different speakers set up in the room. it was part of the piece aquatic frantic: together with OchoReSotto we turned the foyer of the Mkh into a gigantic auqarium in which you could loose your equilibrium sense and just float up or down.
I programmed a Reaktorpatch which used the shepard scale and morphed itself to go up and down. The sound was distributed to four diffrent speakers in order to have spatial audio.
